Mrs. JohnsonHi everyone! I am Shelley Johnson and I am so excited to start my fourth year of teaching here at PGE. I grew up in Mt. Washington and graduated from Bullitt East in 2011. I graduated from UofL in 2017 with my Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education & am now pursuing my Masters in School Counseling. I taught at Crestwood Elementary in Oldham County for two years. This will be my second year at PGE.
When I am not at school, I am usually doing something with my family or enjoying the outdoors. My husband, Cory, and I have been married for 4 years and have a wonderful little boy, Jake. Along with him, our cats Cooper & Milay, and Aussiedoodle puppy, Bogey keep us busy! I am so delighted to be a part of a community that is so loving and inviting. The teachers and the students here are seriously the BEST and it is a privilege to work with each one of them everyday. I can not wait to watch your child learn and grow this school year! Thank you and let’s have a “Fintastic” year! |
Ms. ShouseHello! My name is Emily Shouse. I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself to you. I graduated from the University of Louisville with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education with Dual Certification in Learning and Behavior Disorders. Once I finished that, I went straight back to U of L and graduated with a Masters of Education in Teacher Leadership. I was a substitute teacher in Jefferson and Bullitt County before I accepted this position at Pleasant Grove Elementary. I am the Assistant Colorguard Instructor at the University of Louisville. I marched there for 5 years and I am in my third year on staff. I am an Independent Consultant for Usborne Books and More.
My classroom is a safe space for my students. I want my students to work in the next school year. a creative space. We play music in the room. I have also worked to create a positive environment in my classroom. We use the affirmation mirror daily to give ourselves affirmations as well as our classmates. My biggest goal is to help students feel prepared for the next school year in whatever way I can. I have wanted to be a teacher ever since Kindergarten, so if you ever hear me say “I’m living the dream”, that’s because I am living MY dream everyday with my students. |
